Ministry of Upreach

UPREACH speaks of the direction to which we are stretching and extending ourselves. It focuses on our connecting with God. We are communicating on a vertical plane rather than a horizontal plane. We are pressing into the Lord himself. We are reaching up to the one we love. We are reaching up to the one who is the lover of our soul. Upreach is our first and foremost priority of purpose. Nothing else must be allowed to eclipse this priority. Jesus stated this very clearly in Luke 14:25-26.

(25)Large crowds were traveling with Jesus, and turning to them he said:  (26)"If anyone comes to me and does not hate his father and mother, his wife and children, his brothers and sisters-yes, even his own life-he cannot be my disciple."

Everything else in both the Christian’s life and the life of the church must serve this purpose. If we succeed at everything else yet fail at this then we are a complete failure.

The Ministry of Upreach has three major objectives:

    1. The first objective is to focus the church on intimacy with the Lord. 1 Corinthians 6:17 says, "But he who unites himself with the Lord is one with him in spirit." This produces a sense of security and significance.
    2. The second objective is to equip and focus the church on worship. This is where we get our inspiration. We know God inhabits the praises of his children. We see in John 4:23-24 that the Father is looking for true worshippers who will worship him in Spirit and in truth. Worship inspires us.
    3. The third objective is to create an environment where the church can experience the presence of the Lord. It is his presence that informs us that he is pleased with us and distinguishes us from all other peoples on earth.
