Ministry of Outreach

OUTREACH speaks of the direction to which we are stretching or extending our efforts. Here, we begin to communicate with those outside the faith. We are interacting with the lost, unchurched, and backslidden Christian. Though it is third in order of our three-fold purpose, it is not third in the sense of its importance. We are to be like Jesus who came to seek and save the lost. It was God’s great love for the world that caused Him to sacrifice and give so much.

The Ministry of Outreach has three major objectives:

    1. Our first objective in evangelism is to reach our sphere of influence. This speaks of those people who we have the opportunity to be around often. This includes family, relatives, neighbors, work acquaintances, etc. We must spend time with those God has placed in our lives. This provides us with the emotional and spiritual benefit of caring. While we can impress people from a distance?we can influence them only by getting close.
    2. Our second objective of outreach is reaching out to our local community. A current trend is what is referred to as “servant evangelism.” This could be serving in the inner city or serving our westside community. This can be ministry in nursing homes, rescue missions, March for Jesus, programs for the poor, and etc
    3. Our third objective, outreach to the world, is already in place. We are presently reaching the nations through our support of ATM and specifically Albania and Kosovo. The emotional and spiritual benefit is in knowing we are fulfilling the Great Commission through our obedience. We could, and certainly should, increase our giving when we are able.
