Currently missions efforts are organized by a missions council at WCC.
The missions council members are; Derek and Sarah Hiley and Glenn Marsh.
The purpose of the mission council is to provide leadership and
support so that the vision of WCC for world outreach can be
fulfilled.
One
focus of WCC is the area of long-term missions. WCC has international
connections through ATM with Albania, Kosovo, and Peru.
ATM has long-term missionaries in each of the three countries. Darryl and
Debbie Snyder are ATM missionaries to Albania; Jeff and Diane Geaslen
are ATM missionaries to Kosovo, and WCCs own Eddie King is an
ATM missionary to Peru. WCC sends support as needs arise in Albania
and Kosovo. In Peru, WCC contributes regularly to support Eddie King
in Peru. In mid-November, WCC puts on an annual missions awareness
event known as W.O.W. (World Outreach Week). Frequently we have guest
missionary speakers from the above regions in to share a message and
keep us abreast of current developments in those countries. WCC also
sends individuals to support missions efforts in these and
other countries that ATM has relations with, which brings up the
other area of focus in world missions, short-term missions.

Short Term Missions Focus
Belize Mission Trip in 2009
Please pray about signing up
for our exciting adventure near the Equator! We will be embarking on our
short-term missions trip to Belize, Central America
on June 13th through the 28th of 2009. This trip is open to the adventurous
of heart of ALL ages. Let God use YOU as you commit your time, talents
and spiritual gifts to minister to young and old
in beautiful, tropical Belize.
You will experience a spectrum of ministry opportunities that range from
conducting an evangelistic VBS camp to light construction type work.
Imagine the ministry possibilities as we help families get back on their feet
after losing everything in the recent severe storms that have plagued this
small country. We will also minister at a prison, a girls' home, on the
streets and at church events. The people of Belize are truly an example
of John 4:35(NLT) where Jesus says, "You know
the saying, ‘Four months between planting and harvest.’ But I say, wake up and
look around. The fields are already ripe for harvest."
And if that's not enough fun and excitement, our R & R times include Cave
Tubing!, visiting Mayan Ruins, Swimming and Shopping.
It's the right trip for
everyone as English is spoken in Belize. The estimated cost of $1,650 per
person includes transportation, food, lodging, supplies and materials for
ministry and R&R costs. If you do not have a passport, that will be
an extra expense. Apply to become a member of the team EARLY so we can
get the best possible airfare rates!!!
The first of three payments
will be due in January of 2009.
Thank you for considering being a part of the team. I hope to hear from
those of you who are interested in going with us very soon!
